Incentive for defeating protective devices: App for Android und iOS
Machine manufacturers and operators are obliged to provide safe machinery. Machines offering a high incentive for defeating protective devices are not considered to be safe and shall not be operated. Therefore it is highly relevant to both, manufacturer and operator, to determine the incentive for defeating of a safeguard.
To help answer this question, an app has been developed that can be used to identify and classify incentives to defeat protective devices on machines. The result should help to identify measures that lead to a reduction in the occurrence of manipulation and the resulting risk of accidents.
A second version of the app is currently being developed. As soon as it becomes available, it will be linked on this page. Until then, the assessment scheme implemented with the app can be carried out with the help of an Excel spreadsheet (right mouseclick “save as”) and the corresponding instructions.
